In 2015 at 19 she published her first single here. This single received high praise both from listeners and critics. It ranked at number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of the year. She released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. The track was distinctive because many people related to the interview she did with the rapper Rap-Up on her journey to find love and accept her. Cara's music is known for its messages of kindness in self-love, and mental wellbeing. All of Cara's music stems directly from her struggles with insomnia and mental illness. According to a Reuters interview, she describes the album as tumultuous and half mastered. Therapy helped her grow and encourages other people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara is a Canadian performer who was born on July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian descent. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was only 10-years-old. It ignited her passion for music. In the age of 13, she started covering songs she like on YouTube to prove to viewers that she had the talent to be a singer and was able to make the decision to pursue music as a profession. One of the songs Sweater Weather eventually got her noticed by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and compose her own songs.
